What is Social Media Summit?

What is Social Media Summit?

Social Media Summit Uganda, is an annual summit that aims to identify, share, train and advance the use of social media in corporate, businesses, public and non-profit sectors.

Following on the highly successful inaugural Summit event in November 2014, this year we will explore the bottom line impact that social media has on culture, sports, business and the larger society under the theme "Social Means Business"

Benefits of attending the summit

  • Identify the trends transforming and driving social media
  • Explore the ROI potential of true consumer and fan engagement
  • Experience successful cross media brand integration
  • Align your social media with overall business and growth goals
  • Manage multiple campaigns across multiple platforms
  • Connect and network with social media agencies

Who is invited to attend?

The summit has been designed to assemble the industry's grittiest and most experienced professionals. We are expanding the invited sectors attending from last year's where we had professionals from various industries and sectors from government ministries and entities, parastatals, NGOs and CSOs, corporate and multinational organizations, and the SME sector. This year we will have special track sessions on Tourism & hospitality, Health, sports branding, and other exciting tracks

Why The Summit?

As society moves in the headlong rush to get on social media and try to "be on" they have become dependent on social media which has by its nature disrupted information exchange and dissemination; communication, knowledge management and sharing. The blurring of the lines between people and brands is perhaps the biggest achievement so far increasing the interaction between how people work and how they play. The summit this year is looking to expand on how delegates can maximize their social media platform presence either as individuals or as brand and companies
